Library Hours, Help, & Updates

The North Central Library is open as follows during the Fall & Winter Semesters:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8 am - 7 pm
  • Friday: 8 am - 5 pm
  • Weekends: Closed

Research Help from Library staff is available through a variety of formats:

  • In-person. Drop by the Library during open hours. 
  • By phone. Call 231-348-6615 to speak with the Library staff.
  • By email. Email library@ncmich.edu with your research question. Responses within 24 hours during the normal work week. 
  • 24/7 Virtual Chat. Connect with a trained librarian anytime of the day through the Michigan Research Now Collaborative.

Library Services & Resources

The NCMC Library provides a variety of resources and services to support student research. Here's a quick overview:

  • Computers. The Library houses 11 desktop computers. Laptops (PC & Mac) are also available for checkout. 
  • Printing. Students are allowed 20 free black & white prints and two free color prints per day for academic materials from Library desktops and/or laptops. Student ID is required. Additional prints cost 5 cents per page. Stop at the Library Circulation Desk for details. 
  • Copying. The Library offers black and white and color photocopying. Copies cost 5 cents per page for black and white copies and 25 cents per page for color copies.
  • Resources. From print books to eBooks to online articles, the Library provides students with access to the quality academic resources needed for research assignments. Learn more through this LibGuide or at the Library Website.  
  • Study Rooms. There are 3 Study Rooms available in the Library for checkout. Individual and group checkouts are for two hours. Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance using the Online Reservation System
  • Research Assistance. Library staff members are available daily for research assistance by phone, email, or in-person.
